Happy Memorial Day Weekend readers! Although this weekend will be unlike any year prior, I still encourage you all to try to get outside, have fun, and it wouldn’t be the last week of Water Safety Month without me saying...stay safe! When our normal plans of waterparks and roaring family barbeques are out of the question, what can we do to have fun, cool off and spend quality time with the people around us? Check out my 8 favorite activities for MDW 2020!

Backyard Beach Trip

When the beaches are closed or unable to accommodate proper social distancing protocols, what’s there to do? Take those beach chairs out to your yard, pull up that umbrella and listen to the sounds of the ocean on Spotify! Take the beach wherever you go

Letter Writing

Spend some family time this weekend writing letters to veterans that you know thanking them for their service and wishing them a Happy Memorial Day. If you don’t know anyone, send them to your local VA or hospital. Take some time to reflect on the importance of this holiday

Sponge Races

If your little ones are running around your backyard, try this fun water game. Scatter buckets of water and just as many empty buckets in the yard. Each player gets one sponge and tries to soak up all the water and transport from one bucket to the other! The player who fills their bucket first, wins and pours their bucket on the other players
