THE POWER OF A SMILE

Sometimes you just read something and it speaks to you and your heart.  This one spoke to mine and I just thought I would share it with you.  In a time when none of us have answers, this seems to resonate with me.  We are not expected to have answers and yet we feel as if we should, especially for our children.

We do not have to have all of the answers and our children do not expect us too. We do the best we can with the information we have at the time and that is OK.  Our children only want to know that they are safe and loved.  That is what matters when it all comes down to it.  Even our moody teenagers want that.  They may only want a 10 second hug but it matters to them. Even when you think it doesn’t.

Encourage your children to sing their song and to express their thoughts, concerns, feelings and let them know it is ok not to have all of the answers right now.  Encourage them to just be kids and to have fun and to laugh and be silly!

That is what our plan is for SMILE 2021!  To just let our campers be.

Be whatever they want to be.  Happy, sad, excited, silly, anxious etc..All of the emotions that have been building and need an outlet and we will be here for all of it and I cannot wait to just watch all the worry, anxiety, and uncertainty wash away this summer.  To see our campers smiling and goofing around with their friends and to see them try new and exciting things.  This is what childhood is all about and  we cannot wait to SMILE 2021 to start!!
