This summer, camp is going to be a little different than we remember, but the fun isn’t going anywhere!  At Pinnacle, we are dedicated to the wellness and safety of every member and guest that steps through our door, and our Aquatics Team is prepared to help your children grow in new ways this summer. The 2020 SMILE Aquatics Program will be focused on learning new skills, safety guidelines for every aquatic environment and plenty of fun to go around! This week’s blog is dedicated to answering questions regarding swimming lessons for your camper this summer at SMILE! Every camper will free swim and/or participate in aquatic activities 4 times a week. Whether in or out of the pool, swim time will be a fun and informative part of the day when campers are encouraged to participate in free swim, group activities, and presentations.

SPLASH Swimming Lessons are also available to be a part of your campers day!

Options: Families have the option to register your camper(s) for group or private swim lessons. These swim lessons will be no-contact and all participants will have a lane to themselves. These lessons will be specifically targeted toward our older or more advanced swimmers.

Advanced Swimmers: Advanced swimmers and children who are 4ft tall and up are encouraged to enroll in lessons for the summer. The SPLASH 2020 curriculum will be used and swimmers will be challenged to refine strokes, breathe more efficiently, and be the best swimmer they can be!

Intermediate Swimmers: If your child is an intermediate swimmer, levels 2-3 I encourage you to attend an evaluation session in order to properly place she/he in the appropriate swim level. From there you can decide the option that best fits your camper.

Beginner Swimmers: If you have a young child, and wish to register him/her for private lessons, Parent-Child private lessons are available for during/ after the camp day. Safety always comes first and young children, as well as beginners are encouraged to swim with a guardian in the water with them. In these lessons, your instructor will be on the deck teaching the child, and coaching the parent on how to take these skills and practice them on their own.

Unsure: If you are unsure of your child’s ability or comfort level with no contact lessons, parent’s are encouraged to attend an evaluation session in order to properly place your child into the appropriate level.

If you have any additional questions or concerns please look out for more information from Pinnacle and SMILE Summer Camp on our website and social media, or contact myself or Ms. Darlene directly
